1. Conditions Relating to the Sale of Products to You
This section deals with conditions relating to the sale of products by Keltic.co.uk to you
1.1 Our contract
Any contract for purchases made through the Keltic.co.uk website will be with Baker & Taylor (UK) Limited whose registered office is situated at Bicester Park, Charbridge Way, Bicester, Oxfordshire, UK, OX26 4ST company registration number 2055748. Our VAT registration number is: GB 706 2175 57.
Unless you are a trade customer who has been granted credit terms by prior written agreement with us, Keltic.co.uk must receive payment of the whole of the price for the goods that you order before your order can be accepted, and the contract formed. Payment is taken at the point of order. Once payment has been received Keltic.co.uk will confirm that your order has been received by sending an email to you at the email address you provide. The order confirmation email will include your name, the order number and the total price. Keltic.co.uk acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us on these terms. Any term sought to be imposed by you in your order will not form part of the contract.
Keltic.co.uk is entitled to withdraw from any contract in the case of obvious errors or inaccuracies regarding the goods appearing on our website. If an error or inaccuracy is discovered with regards to the advertised price of the goods that you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible by email. This will be to inform you of the correct price of the goods, and to ask you if you wish to continue with the order at the amended price, or to cancel the order altogether.
1.2. Withdrawal by you from the contract
If you are an individual and are not buying goods on behalf of a business, there are certain circumstances in which you may withdraw from the contract and these are set out here.
This right to withdraw does not apply to business buyers. See section 6 below for returns policy for trade customers.
1.3. Refunds and Standard Returns Policy for non-business customers
Should you change your mind about your order, Keltic operates a 'no questions asked' returns policy providing you return your book within 28 working days of the delivery of your order. To withdraw your order you must notify Keltic.co.uk in writing at the address set out in the returns section of this website. You do not need to give Keltic.co.uk any reason for withdrawing your order nor will you have to pay any penalty.
A full refund will be given for the returned items (including original postage costs), providing they are in their original condition and accompanied by a copy of the delivery note or receipt. Any postage charges incurred when returning your items will be at your own cost.
During the 'no questions asked' 28 day period we will also accept items for return in any of the following cases:
The item was found to be damaged or faulty.
We will either replace the item or give you a full refund (including postage costs). Please state which option you prefer. If you require a replacement, we will wait to receive the faulty copy from you before despatching a new one.
The item was incorrectly supplied.
If we have made a mistake in fulfilling your order, a full refund (including postage costs) will be given.
Once you have notified Keltic.co.uk that you are withdrawing your order, any sum debited by Keltic.co.uk from your credit card will be re-credited to your account as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of your order.
In all cases, items should be returned in their original packaging to:
Baker & Taylor (UK) Ltd
The prices on the website are based on the UK publisher's prices in pounds sterling and are kept up to date on a regular basis. However, they may be subject to change without notice.
Since most ELT publishers increase their prices from January each year, our prices also increase at this time. All listed prices exclude VAT, which is added at checkout.
Despite our efforts, a small number of the thousands of products in our catalogue may be mispriced. We endeavour to verify prices as part of our dispatch procedures. If a product's correct price is lower than our stated price, we will charge the lower amount and send you the product. If a product's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before dispatch or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.
1.5. Value Added Tax (“VAT”) and Customs
Books are currently zero rated for UK VAT. VAT is charged on AV materials such as DVDs at the current rate of 20% (applicable from 4th January 2011). Partial VAT is charged on items such as coursebooks packaged with an AV component (CD, CD-ROM or DVD), in line with the publisher's policy.
VAT at the current UK rate is chargeable to all UK customers and European Union (‘EU’) residents (unless the latter hold and advise us of their current valid local VAT registration). VAT is charged at checkout in line with the above policy.
Please note that UK VAT rates may be subject to change.
Goods sold by Keltic.co.uk that are dispatched to addresses outside of the European Union are generally not subject to UK or other EU VAT. When ordering goods from Keltic.co.uk for delivery overseas, you may be subject to import duties and taxes that are levied once the package reaches your country. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be.
Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, please note that when ordering from Keltic.co.uk, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.
1.6. Returns policy for Trade Customers
Our standard Returns Policy does not apply to those customers who purchase items for business use, non-business educational purposes, resale or on a Trade Account. Instead the following policy applies.
· All returns must be preauthorised and must be accompanied by a current returns form, with the authorisation number clearly noted. Keltic reserves the right to refuse returns requests for products produced by publishers who do not themselves permit returns. We also do not accept returns of out of print materials or superseded old editions.
· For customers with delivery addresses in the UK only, Keltic will meet the cost of collecting one customer return per term, up to a maximum of four times per year. The customer will be responsible for paying carriage for any additional returns.
· Returns are limited to 20% of the value of products invoiced in the preceding term.
· Credit will only be issued for returns made within 120 days of the receipt of the product by the customer
· All items returned must be in pristine and resaleable condition. No credit or refunds will be given for items which are not in such condition.
We will also be happy to accept items for return in the following cases, providing you inform us of your intention to return within 5 working days of receipt:
The item was found to be damaged or faulty.
1. We will replace the item. Any postage costs for returning the faulty item and sending out a replacement will be the responsibility of Keltic.co.uk
2. We will wait to receive the faulty copy from you before despatching a new one
The item was incorrectly supplied.
1. If we have made a mistake in fulfilling your order, a full credit or refund (including postage costs) will be given for the incorrectly supplied item
2. We will require you to send the item back to us at our cost
In all cases, items should be returned in their original packaging to:
Baker & Taylor (UK) Ltd

c. d. Keltic.co.uk will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of any problem you notify to Keltic.co.uk under this condition and Keltic.co.uk shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question under paragraph (c) above.
e. Nothing in this condition is, however, intended to limit any rights you might have as a consumer under applicable local law that may not be excluded nor in any way to exclude or limit Keltic.co.uk liability to you for any death or personal injury resulting from its negligence.
Nothing in this contract creates any right which is enforceable by any person who is not a party to the contract.
Keltic.co.uk shall have no liability to you for any failure to deliver goods you have ordered or any delay in doing so or for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond its reasonable control.
If any part of these conditions is unenforceable (including any provision in which Keltic.co.uk excludes its liability to you) the enforceability of any other part of these conditions will not be affected.
Keltic.co.uk operates a complaints handling procedure which is used to try to resolve disputes when they first arise. If you have a complaint, please contact us at the following address: Finance Director, Baker & Taylor (UK) Ltd, Charbridge Way,Bicester, Oxfordshire, OX26 4ST, United Kingdom
